About
The biennial Methodist Girls’ School (MGS) Regional Youth Conference (RYC) is a conference for young adults aged 15 to 18 years old seeking to engage with some of the complex issues we face today. As global citizens of today and global leaders of tomorrow, these young adults need to be empowered to make a decisive difference in this rapidly changing world which they will inherit.
ASEAN after 50
Young & Enterprising
The theme for RYC 2018 is ASEAN after 50 -- Young & Enterprising. We want to celebrate ASEAN’s youthful vitality by exploring some of the ways in which ASEAN’s challenges are being tackled by her own people. We will explore solutions from the private and public sectors and seek to inspire in our conference delegates that sense of adventure and enterprise -- that no problem is beyond them as long as they are willing to work together to find solutions.
Aims
● Open students’ eyes to the marvellous work already being done by ASEAN citizens for their home cities, countries, and the region.
● Appreciate the extent to which ASEAN is capable of innovating to discover solutions that work here
● Prepare students to live, work and play across the ASEAN region as they enter the workforce
